- Potatoe - 600 g (1.3 lbs)
- Minced Meat - 350 g of (0.8 lbs)
- Onion - 1 diced
- Red Pepper - 1.5 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Pepper - to taste
- Cumin - ground
- Flour - 300 g (0.7 lbs)
- Egg - 1 whole
- Sour Cream - 1 large cup of
Peel and slice the potatoes, cook until tender in salted water.
Fry the onion in 5 tbs of oil until transparent, add the minced meat and continue to braise for 4-5 minutes. Add the red pepper and salt to taste.
Pour in the water and cook until tender.
Once the potatoes are tender, drain, and mash.
Strain the meat mixture and set the meat aside.
In a bowl, blend 2/3 of the sour cream, 1 level spoonful of flour with a half a glass of water. Pour into the juice from the meat and boil. The remainder of the sour cream is added just before serving as a garnishment.
To the mashed potatoes add flour and eggs and blend well. Roll out and cut into cubes. Add a mound of meat into the center and make the dumplings. Drop into boiling water. When done pour the sour cream gravy over the top of the dumplings, place a dollop of sour cream into the center and serve.
