Mixing different types of apples will make the pie taste better.
- Apple - 2000 g (4.4 lbs)
- Sugar - 200 g (0.4 lbs)
- Cinnamon - 1 tsp
- Grated Lemon Peel - 1
- Flour - 500 g (1.1 lbs)
- Butter - 250 g (0.6 lbs)
- Powdered Sugar - 125 g (0.3 lbs)
- Vanillin Sugar - 2 packet
- Baking Powder - 10 g (0 lbs)
- Egg - 5
- Sour Cream - 2 tsp
- Bread Crumbs - 60 g (0.1 lbs)
- Chopped Walnut - 20-30 g (0 lbs)
- Powdered Sugar - 3-4 tbs
Peel and grate the apples. Add sugar, cinnamon, and grated lemon peel. Simmer over medium heat, for about 30-40 minutes, until the liquid evaporates.
Combine flour and butter, and add powdered sugar, vanillin sugar, baking powder, 2 eggs, 2 egg yolks, a pinch of salt and sour cream. Work together and shape them into two loaves.
Line a greased baking tin with one of the loaves, sprinkle it with bread crumbs, and the apple mixture.
Put the other half of pastry on top and spread with egg yolk. Put it into a preheated (200°C/390°F) oven and bake for about 50-60 minutes.
Cut the pie into squares and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
