- Red Onion - 800 g (1.8 lbs)
- Sugar - 50 g (0.1 lbs)
- Honey - 2 tbs
- Vinegar - 1 dl (3.4 oz)
- Ground Cinnamon - 1 pinch of
- Salt - 1 pinch of
- Red Wine - ½ dl (0 oz)
Caramelise the sugar in a pan, and add the sliced red onion half rings and cook over low heat. Stir frequently, wait until onions collapses.
Season with cinnamon, salt and red wine. simmer over low heat. Mix the honey and vinegar together and then add to the mixture when the onion is soft. Simmer for 10 minutes.
