Simple and delicious apple pie recipe.
- Ground Oat - 1/2 cup
- Flour - 1/2 cup
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Ground Cinnamon - 1/4 tsp
- Salt - 1/2 tsp
- Ground Unsalted Whole Almonds - 3/4 cup
- Butter - 6 tbs
- Sugar - 3/4 cup
- Cornstarch - 3/4 tbs
- Salt - 1/4 tsp
- Fresh Sour Cherry - 900 g (2 lbs)
Roll out the pie dough into a 12 inch round and place into a 9-10 inch pie plate. Put it into fridge for about 30 minutes and preheat oven to 218ºC/425ºF. Bake until crust is light golden brown, about 30 minutes. Reduce temperature to 375°F.
Combine the oats, flour, sugar, cinnamon, salt and whole almonds. Grind them together until the nuts are coarsely ground. Stir together with melted butter in a bowl.
In a large bowl, mix the cherries with sugar, cornstarch and salt.
Pour the cherries into a pie shell. Pour the almond crumble over the cherries. Place the pie plate on a foil-lined cookie sheet. Bake for about 1 hour or until the juices are bubbling and thick.
